PUBLISHER DESCRIPTION
Lindsey Waters never wanted to return to the seaside inn where she grew up. The place represents too many traumatic memories. But with her career on the fritz, she has no choice but to return to her childhood home. Her plan: renovate the place, sell it, and start fresh somewhere else. Her strategy goes awry when mysterious incidents begin happening at the inn—dangerous incidents. Someone wants her gone. But why? She reconnects with childhood friend Benjamin Harris. But something is different about him, something she can’t quite put her finger on. She’s certain he’s harboring secrets. Can she really trust him? With her past closing in, Lindsey is tempted to run. Otherwise, the inn might be her final resting place. Then again, maybe that’s what it was always meant to be.
Lindsey and Benjamin knew each other 15 years ago. A lot. Has changed since the night she was abducted. She has returned to restore the inn that belonged to her parents. Unknowingly she hires Benjamin to help her with the work. From there the mystery slowly unfolds in depth and danger.
I liked this story. It had some fun twists and turns with a well paced mystery. At the heart of the story is a message of faith, forgiveness, and facing the past. Lindsey works to remember the details of her past while rebuilding her legacy. Interspersed are townspeople with secrets to hide of their own.
This was a story of simple faith and healing. Throw in a little suspense and DIY and you have a good afternoon.
I received an eARC from the publisher and this is my honest review.
