Lights Out by Natalie Walters

ABOUT

"Natalie Walters is a fabulous new voice in inspirational romantic suspense!"--Susan May Warren, My USA Today bestselling author CIA analyst Brynn Taylor developed a new program to combat terrorism, and she invited members of foreign intelligence agencies to America to foster cooperation between countries. Now one of them, Egyptian spy Remon Riad, is missing. Jack Hudson has been working for the Strategic Neutralization and Protection Agency for almost nine years and takes the lead in hunting down the missing spy. But he isn't at all pleased to find out Brynn is involved. It's hard to trust a woman who's already betrayed you. Every lead they follow draws them dangerously deeper into an international plot. Kidnapping, murder, explosions, poisoning--the terrorists will do anything to accomplish their goal of causing a digital blackout that will blind a strategic US military communications center and throw the world into chaos. Can Brynn surrender control to a man who doesn't trust her? And can Jack ever get over what she did to him? The fate of the world--and their hearts--hangs in the balance.

MY REVIEW

Wow, I tell you what, Wow! I was on edge trying to solve this mystery. It was a fantastic mix of suspense and relationships. I love the covert spy world and this one does not disappoint. Jack and Brynn were both smart, intuitive, and independent. The other members of their team were fantastic and so nuanced.

Jack and Brynn had a history and a chemistry that added so much to the world created here. The growth in both characters is phenomenal and organic. The mystery is compelling and suspenseful. I found myself trying to figure out the mystery and being pulled in through the end. I love it when the book gets into my head like this. The pacing was perfect and I was happy with the outcome. I can't wait for more from this author. I loved the inclusion of faith, it always adds just a bit more.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher and through NetGalley and this is my honest review.
