Book Description
Will Paige decide to share her heart or fly solo?
Paige Hall’s happy ending may just be in sight. Captain Jake Summers is everything a girl could dream of: charming, considerate, and hardworking. Despite Paige’s determination to avoid falling into another relationship, her resolve is no match for the whirlwind romance that ensues. When Jake is not flying, he and Paige are inseparable, and Paige begins to believe in happily ever afters again. But when the couple faces a heartrending loss, they must find strength in each other and in their faith or risk losing a once-in-a-lifetime love.
My Review
I loved this story. I am always a little hesitant with contemporary romances as they can skew a bit cheesy. There was none of that here. What you had here were two hearts needing to heal and a romance worth reading. There were some gratuitous mentions of Jane Austen, but that is more than all right with me. I saw supportive friendships and strong family ties. It was everything you would want in a good Christian Romance. And there was romance. There was even room for a not so over the top grand gesture. There was healing, there was faith, and there was hope. I laughed, I cried, I had all the feels. I would definitely read this one again. I was given an eARC by the publisher but would definitely add this book to my collection.

Interview with Chalon Linton
What inspired you to write this book?
My husband is in the Air Force and during the twenty plus years he has served we have met some wonderful people and had many adventures. There have also been tough times. Really tough. I found prayer to be my biggest anchor during these trials. I love romance and will probably always write romance, so given my history it made sense to write Christian Fiction about the Air Force life I am familiar with.
How did you get started writing to begin with?
I read a lot when I was a child, then got busy with college, kids, and military spouse life and didn't have the time. When I started reading again, I read a book and thought . . . I wonder if I could do this? I pulled out an old laptop and started typing. That was about 12 years ago.
What is your favorite Genre to read?
Romance. I love all the feels!
When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I knew I wanted to be a mom. I didn't think much about college aspirations. I did graduate with a degree in Secondary Math Education. I taught one year before we moved away with the military and began our family.
What would you most like someone to get out of your books?
I always hope to write on a subject that will make readers think. I've published both Historical Fiction and Christian Fiction. With the Christian Fiction I hope for two things: First, I hope to give readers a glimpse of the sacrifice made by service members and their families. I've learned so much as a military spouse that I would like to share with others. Second, I hope readers take away the knowledge that keeping God as an integral part of our lives brings us joy. We may have trials, but He knows us and our struggles and will walk hand and hand with us as we move through life.
Are you planning to write more books set in this world?
More books about Air Force Pilots falling in love are definitely in the works! I plan to have an Air Force Romance series.
Would you ever write a series?
My Historical Fiction novels are companion novels, meaning the characters overlap in the stories, but each book is a stand-alone. My Air Force Romance novels will be stand-alone also, connected through the character's faith in God and their connection to the military.
What is your current top five books you would recommend to others?
Edenbrooke by Julianne Donaldson
The False Prince by Jennifer Nielsen
The Hobbit by J. R. R. Tolkien
My Lady Jane by Cynthia Hand
The Kiss of a Stranger by Sarah M Eden
What gets you into the right frame of mind to write?
When my story is flowing, it's easy to sit down and keep typing. When I get stuck, listening to music or watching a romantic show or reading a romance book can get me back in the space to write.
